Our Skin Journey

When I went to Japan last year, there were a few products I stocked up : sunscreens and oil cleansers mainly. When I think about those two categories, I think Japan. I have rarely been deceived by an oil cleanser or a sunscreen that came from Japan.

I have bought many products from Bioré, it's a brand that I like, even though I have to be careful about the ingredients as it's not always made for sensitive skin. I was thrilled to learn that it was going to be sold in French supermarkets. However I am quite sad that they only sell acne care products. I hope the success of the brand will make them expand their range though.

I had already heard about the Bioré Perfect Oil even before I went to Japan, it is budget-friendly favorite for many Japanese beauty lovers already and I wanted to try it for myself. Let's take a look at the claims:

"Bioré Cleansing Oil effectively dissolves and removes stubborn makeup, including waterproof mascara, while lifting away dirt and impurities. Unlike other cleansing oils, it leaves no greasy film on your face and maintains the skin's natural moisture balance. It does not emulsify upon contact with water, thus maintaining its optimal cleansing performance at all times. Just apply with dry or wet hands and rinse off with water for that clean and fresh feeling!" (From the Bioré Malaysian website)

Packaging
The packaging is pretty basic, nothing much to say about it. However for some unknown reason, although both bottle are the exact same somehow the Apple Cleansing oil was leaking the whole time I used it at the base of the pump. Ugh, WHY. I could have transferred the remaining oil into the other bottle but I didn't, I'm just THAT lazy.

Whamisa Organic Flowers Cleansing Oil

Reading different beauty blogs you discover new brands almost every week (or at least new products but that's another story). And anything new sounds appealing to me. But I’ve tried lately to only buy a product when I’m almost done with one so that I don’t have dozens of “to be used” products awaiting in the bathroom cupboard. So when I heard of Whamisa several months ago I just waited patiently, if I had listened to myself I would have bought about 5 products from the brand, the oil, one of their serum, probably a face cream, one sheet masks and so on. And then I finished my cleansing oil and was very happy to order this one.

All the products I regularly use in the morning.

One thing you should know about me is that I don’t believe in using the same products every day without exception or else you’ll die. I do believe that using a product for an extended period of time is needed to see its effects, I do believe in being consistent: if you start a product you finish it and I don’t think that having a bazillion opened products is needed, but I do think you have to adapt the products to your needs and my skin does not have the same needs everyday of the week. Let me explain: most days I’ll simply apply hydrating products, but then one day for some unknown reason my skin will feel drier, well then on this one day I’ll use something a bit richer, if one day I have more pimples: then I’ll use something taking care of this need. That’s why on each category I have up to 3 opened products that I switch between depending on my needs.

Now that I’ve explained myself here is my routine:

Afficher l'image d'origine

I really like this oil. The scent is quite light kind of citrusy but it's not overly strong. The texture is good too, not too runny nor too thick. It spreads easily on the face.
It leaves no residue and it desolves waterproof mascara quite fast. And it doesn’t hurt at all when it’s in contact with the eye and my eyes don't get blurry after I use it.
I think it’s actually my second favorite cleansing oil (after Softymo deep cleansing oil)! I would defititely repurchase.
Note: 5/5
