Whamisa Organic Flowers Cleansing Oil

Reading different beauty blogs you discover new brands almost every week (or at least new products but that's another story). And anything new sounds appealing to me. But I’ve tried lately to only buy a product when I’m almost done with one so that I don’t have dozens of “to be used” products awaiting in the bathroom cupboard. So when I heard of Whamisa several months ago I just waited patiently, if I had listened to myself I would have bought about 5 products from the brand, the oil, one of their serum, probably a face cream, one sheet masks and so on. And then I finished my cleansing oil and was very happy to order this one.

Hadalabo Gokujyun Lotion

This is one of the first (if not THE first) Asian skincare product that I ever tried. It attracted me as usual with the Hyaluronic Acid in it and the no fuss, straight forward approach of the brand. They are not trying to sell you cutesy packaging and frivolus stuff, with never seen before ingredient, which I also like, but I tend to be much more attracted to ‘medical’ looking types of products, there is not necessarily more research into them but they look like they do, I also use to have a more sensitive skin and like to have a few risk-less products. The Rohto Hadalabo Gokyjyun Hyaluronic Acid line is aimed at all skin types and aims to moisturize your skin deeply. Surprisingly enough the lotion I’m going to talk about today is the only product from the range that I have ever tried, the other product from the line do attract me too but for some reason I haven’t yet.

Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil

The Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil is one of Clarins cult product. It is, as the name would suggest, a face oil. There are 3 different oils in this range and the Blue Orchid one is dedicated to dehydrated skins.

What it claims to do

"Colour-perfecting foundation with SPF 25 for a radiant complexion and even-looking skin.
The light liquid foundation is quickly absorbed and blends with the skin to conceal discoloration and imperfections. The unique sponge, which is soaked in the product, easily applies the perfect amount. The porous sponge releases small particles of product that adhere to the skin, leaving it softer, smoother and more even looking. The compact has a metallic finish and contains a sponge with the KIKO logo and mirror for easy application.
Dermatologically tested. Non-comedogenic. Paraben free." From the Kiko website

Sana Hadanomy Collagen Mist

The Sana Hadanomy Collagen Mist is as the name would suggest a mist and is supposed to hydrate the skin. I don’t really remember when I bought it but part of the reason why is the cute bottle and the collagen in the name (I’m weak and I know it) and I bought it thinking I would use it as a lotion back when I thought that I would use the Hadacrie EVERY DAY and thought that I needed to buy liters and liters of lotion to go with it.

Mamonde - Rose Honey sleeping mask

The Mamonde Rose Honey sleeping mask is a sleeping mask that I discovered with a sample I received along an online order. I tried it, loved the smell and the effects I saw and decided to buy it full size.

WHAT IT CLAIMS TO DO
"New concept eyebrow gel tint that makes eyebrows makeup last longer after removing the tint." So basically it is the same concept as the Berissom Lip tint except you leave it for 2 hours instead of 10 minutes and it lasts for days instead of one. I was already sold when I first saw the lip tints so I was sold when I saw this for my eyebrows. I saw nowhere how long it would stay on so I guess that will be a surprise!

Clarins HydraQuench Intesive Serum Bi-Phase

I love Clarins. It's my favorite high-end skincare brand. I love their philosophy and most of their products. I swear by their Moisture-Rich Body Lotion, the HydraQuench cream-gel is awesome and that is just to name a few. I like that they have a line for younger skins. And most importantly I feel good buying from them. The sales lady where I shop is the sweetest ever! They always make me feel like they know what they are talking about and you can feel that their customers is important for them.

Herborist -Silky All-day Moisturizing Lazy Beauty Facial Mask

I discovered this mask when I was subscribed to Birchbox, in the French version you accumulate points each time you buy a box and then those points allow you to buy stuff from their e-shop. I bought it on a whim. And I happen to quite like it.

Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum

I first saw this serum on Wishtrend attracted by the "Free shipping", the "40% off", the fact that it was a bestselling item and the awards it has received I thought that for the price I could try it, worst that would happen would be that I did not like it but then 14.99$ would not be that much of a loss.

Caudalie SOS Thirst Quenching Serum

I’ve been using this serum for about 3 years now (and by using it I mean that I have always had a bottle of it opened ever since, either using it in the morning, in the evening or both). I first discovered it reading Lodoesmakeup’s blog (in French) I bought it a few weeks after and fell in love.

Source : The Face Shop

The sheet mask is soaked in 20g of lotion which is a decent amount, under is too little in my opinion. The lotion is quite runny so I think it would fit even oily skin types. The mask itself is very thin and the fitting is OK (not the best I’ve seen, but not the worst either).

All the products I use regularly.

A few month back I realized how little I exfoliated. And I wondered if it could be the reason why my skin wasn't smooth (of course it was) this is when I bought Tony Moly's Gold Black Sugar Mask. Tony Moly has been doing pretty good quality products for an inexpensive price, so they had my trust.

All the products I regularly use in the morning.

One thing you should know about me is that I don’t believe in using the same products every day without exception or else you’ll die. I do believe that using a product for an extended period of time is needed to see its effects, I do believe in being consistent: if you start a product you finish it and I don’t think that having a bazillion opened products is needed, but I do think you have to adapt the products to your needs and my skin does not have the same needs everyday of the week. Let me explain: most days I’ll simply apply hydrating products, but then one day for some unknown reason my skin will feel drier, well then on this one day I’ll use something a bit richer, if one day I have more pimples: then I’ll use something taking care of this need. That’s why on each category I have up to 3 opened products that I switch between depending on my needs.

Now that I’ve explained myself here is my routine:

So recently my skin has become less soft. At first I thought it was because I changed my facial cream but I have discovered the real culprit: Winter. My skin is combination but dehydrated (i.e. my skin lacks water so it produces more sebum to protect itself). So since it is winter my skin has been even more dehydrated. At the same time I realized that my sister offered me to use her Hada crie (CM-N810, with the sheet mask mode).
And I thought it could be nice to be a review that I would update as winter passes.

What EOS lip balm should you get ?
Source : Playbuzz

When I first saw the EOS lip balm in one of Michelle Phan videos I was in complete awe. And since packaging and advertisement works really well on me (too much?), I ended up buying it. I loved them immediately, they were nourishing, they smell and taste good. After some time I started to get weird pimples on my upper lip line and I just didn't even imagined that it could be the lip balm I was using. Then they disappeared after I finished my EOS lip balm. But again, since it wasn't immediate I didn't make the link.

Recently though, I bought another and the pimples reappeared and then it hit me: the EOS lip balm was the cause of it. Trust me I really wanted to love it, they are sooo cute and tiny, and in fact I did love them for a long time before I realized that it was what gave me those pimples.

So I'm not saying you shouldn't buy them, for most people it won't cause pimples, but if you're prone to having those maybe you should consider buying another lip balm.

These are the beauty tips that I apply to myself, some I found myself, some I collected over the years. I hope you can try some!

- Never use soap that isn't designed specifically for the face.
- Hot water will dehydrate your skin.
- Know the difference between dehydrated and dry. Dry means your skin lacks oil and dehydrated means it lacks water. So oily skin can be dehydrated and in fact, It will almost always be the case because if your skin lacks water it will produce oil to protect itself. So if you have dry skin look for nourishing creams and if you have oily skin, look for hydrating ones. The word moisturizing is quite tricky because it can mean both depending on the company. Generally speaking you can guess which one it is when you look at the main ingredients: shea butter will always be for dry skin while aloe, green tea and so one will be for oily skin.
- Everybody need to use a moisturizer, even the most oily skin types. Again, the more dehydrated your skin is, the more oil it will produce to protects itself.
- Don't touch your face. You probably do it a lot more than you realize.
- If you're trying to get rid of acne scars or if you have acne right now, you should use sunscreen. Without it your scars will last a lot longer, trust me.
- The higher the SPF the better: FALSE. High SPF means more chemicals that probably aren't worth it. SPF30 offers around 90% of UV coverage, which is plenty enough for most people.
- Always choose PA+++ if possible. UVA are said to be the main cause for wrinkles.
- If you have a zit, cover it with a little bit of toothpaste during the night.
- Results won't come within a day, not even within a week. When trying new products, wait a month before stopping them because you think they do nothing.

Please tell me what are your own beauty tips!
